Combination (Private/Mini-Group) Courses

Acadia Center’s intensive combination (private/mini-group) courses – available all year with new courses beginning every week - feature everything you need to raise your English to a higher level.

The individual attention we provide allows you to learn the English skills most essential to you in a total immersion setting.

Mini-group English class at Acadia Center.Our combination courses are open to adult learners with any level of English: beginning, intermediate, or advanced. In the mini-group lessons, students are grouped according to their English level.

Course highlights:

  • Personalized learning program including pre-course evaluation, orientation interview, detailed teachers’ recommendations, and weekly individual assessment meetings
  • Lively small group classes (maximum of 4 students with 1 teacher) that help you master the most important English vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation skills for your level
  • Private, customized lessons that give you intensive practice in the language topics most essential to you, for example: business communication, listening comprehension, TOEFL or TOEIC preparation, writing, or general English

8:30am – 9:00am:  breakfast
9:00am – 10:00am:  guided study in the study center
10:00am – 12:00am:  mini-group English lesson (max. 4 students with 1 teacher)
12:00 noon – 1:00pm:  lunch with teachers at Acadia Center
1:00pm – 3:00pm:  private English lesson (1 student/ 1 teacher)
3:00pm – 5:00pm:  guided study in the study center
6:30pm:  dinner with teacher at Acadia Center

Combination course package price:
2-week course:  $2950
3-week course:  $4350
4-week course:  $5700
The package price for any course of 4 weeks or longer is based on a fee of $1425 per week.


Every immersion course at Acadia Center includes private customized lessons.Early Registration Discount: Take 5% off the package price when you register and pay the deposit 10 weeks or more in advance of your course starting date.

Friends/Couple Discount: Take 5% off the package price if you attend a course with your spouse or a friend or colleague. 

Alumni Discount: Take 5% discount off the package price if you previously attended an immersion course at Acadia Center.

All discounts listed above can be combined.

Combination course package includes:

  • 16 hours per week of English lessons including:
    • 10 hours per week of mini-group English lessons (maximum 4 students with 1 teacher)
    • 6 hours per week of private, customized English lessons
  • weekly individual 30-minute meeting with teacher to assess your progress and objectives
  • 11 hours per week of guided study in the study center
  • all books and materials
  • 2 afternoon teacher-led excursions per week (Tuesday & Friday) including all admission/activity fees and transportation 
  • accommodation in a comfortable private room at Acadia Center or in a village home near Acadia CenterExcursion to Hope General Store and chatting with the owner Andrew Stewart.
  • lunch and dinner with teachers at Acadia Center (Monday through Friday)
  • breakfast (self-serve) every day
  • free high-speed wireless Internet access

  • free admission to indoor swimming pool, gym, indoor track, and fitness center
  • transportation between Rockland (Maine) or Portland (Maine) airport and Acadia Center on the first and last days of your course

Hotel option: The package prices listed above include accommodation at Acadia Center or in a village home near Acadia Center. However, if you prefer to stay in a hotel or bed-and-breakfast, we will discount the package price by $150 per week and you pay the hotel directly. There are many hotels and bed-and-breakfasts within easy walking distance of Acadia Center; if you would like our recommendations, please ask. 

Weekend meals: All meals are included except lunches and dinners on Saturdays and Sundays. On the weekends you are welcome to prepare your own meals in the school kitchen or go out to eat at one of the many restaurants in Camden within a 5-minute walk of Acadia Center.

Additional private lessons can be arranged for a fee of $40 per hour.

We are open all year. New courses begin every Monday.
Schedule your arrival for Sunday and your departure for Saturday.
