The Acadia Center is dedicated to providing the highest quality English instruction in a total immersion setting. Our intensive combination courses - available all year - feature private and mini-group English lessons, teacher-led excursions to places of interest in the area, and a homestay with a carefully selected local family that is eager to help you improve your English.

The individual attention we provide allows you to learn the English skills most essential to you. In the first days of your course, our experienced teachers identify the areas of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation that are most important to your improvement in English, both spoken and written. Throughout your course, lively, challenging lessons focus on your particular needs and help you to make as rapid progress as possible towards your language learning goals.

At the Acadia Center, you are constantly practicing and improving your English, both in class and out of class, at meals and on excursions. Excursion possibilities include mountain biking, sailing, kayaking, or skiing, depending on the season, and visits to nearby towns and their museums, cafés, and shops.

The courses are ideal for anyone at any level who would like to make rapid progress with their English, while at the same time enjoying the hospitality and peacefulness of a small New England town.

9:00am – 10:00am: guided study at the study center
10:00am – 12:00am: mini-group English lesson (maximum of 4 students with 1 teacher)
12:00 noon – 1:00pm: lunch with teachers
1:00pm – 3:00pm: private English lesson (1 student/ 1 teacher)
3:00pm – 5:00pm: guided study at the study center (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays)
3:00pm – 6:00pm: excursion with teacher (Tuesdays and Fridays)
evening: dinner with host family
(Saturday and Sunday schedule: all meals and activities with host family)

The fee for a course of 4 weeks or longer is based on a fee of $1275 per week.
Discounts are available for groups of 2 or more sharing the private lessons; please inquire.

Combination course fee includes:

• 20 hours per week of English lessons including:

10 hours per week of private (individual) English lessons

10 hours per week of mini-group English lessons (maximum 4 students with 1 teacher)

• 11 hours per week of guided study at the study center
• all books and materials
• homestay accommodation with local family (private room)
• all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day) except Saturday dinner
• 2 afternoon teacher-led excursions per week (Tuesdays and Fridays), including museum admission fees and transportation
• free Internet access
• course certificate

Additional private lessons can be arranged for a fee of $40 per hour.

We are open all year except the last week of December. You can begin your course on any Monday. Schedule your arrival for Sunday and your departure for Saturday.
