The
Acadia Center for English Immersion, on the beautiful coast of Maine, USA, is dedicated to providing the
highest quality intensive English courses for adults, featuring individual attention, lively classes, experienced
teachers, total English immersion from morning to night, family-style meals and accommodations, exciting excursions
and activities, and diversity of age and nationality: everything you need to raise your English to a higher level.
We are open all year! Join us for an intensive course at a time that works best for you, or for our summer mini-group
course.

Our dedicated
teachers make sure that you have the opportunity to learn and practice the English skills most
essential to you, whether you need English for your job or for travel or both. On the first
day of your course, in consultation with your teacher, a detailed plan is made outlining your
learning goals and the best way to achieve them. Our intensive courses feature one-to-one and
mini-group lessons. Summer mini-group courses feature small classes supplemented by frequent
private lessons.
Our experienced, friendly teachers create a lively, challenging learning environment that
allows each student to make maximum progress.

From morning to night, you are constantly practicing your English, both in class and out of class,
at meals and on excursions. Because of the smallness and friendliness of our program, you will have
the chance to meet many people in our community who are eager to get to know you and help you with
your English.

Islands and ocean, rocky beaches and peaceful rivers, forests and hills, make our area one of the
most popular vacation places on the east coast of the USA. Living in a small New England village
allows you to take a break from the hurried pace of modern life and participate fully in the daily
life of an American community to an extent that would be impossible in a large city.
No cafeteria food! No dormitories! Accommodation for our intensive course students is a homestay
with a local family. During the summer mini-group course, students live together in comfortable
village homes near the school. Meals are delicious and family-style, featuring local produce and
seafood, including lobster fresh off the boat.
A wide range of ages from 18 to 80; half of our students are over 35. Our students come from many
different countries, and rarely are there more than 2 or 3 at a time from the same country.
At the Acadia Center you will gain new self-confidence in speaking and understanding English, while
enjoying the beauty, serenity, and generous hospitality of a small Maine town.
